Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign

Child Malnutrition and anemia prevalent in children below the age of 06 years in the state and anemia prevalent in women in the age group of 15 to 49 years is a challenge which has been decided to root out.
For the positive improvement in the nutrition level of children and women, “Suposhit Dantewada Abhiyan” was started on June 24, 2019, in tribal-dominated Dantewada district as per the wish of the Honorable Chief Minister. In view of the success of the campaign, “Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign” has been started in other districts of the state from October 02, 2019, on the occasion of Gandhiji’s 150th birth anniversary.

The main objective of the campaign is to make malnutrition and anemia free in children up to the age of 06 years and anemia in women in the age group of 15 to 49 years. Setting a target of 4419 malnourished children and (anaemic 1487 and pregnant women 3807 total 5294) under the district in the financial year 2023-24, at present nutritious hot khichdi to malnourished children aged 01 to 03 years of the district and hot food to pregnant, anemic women (Rice, Dal, Roti, Vegetable, Pickle, Papad, Salad, Jaggery) are being provided.

The expenditure incurred in the implementation of this campaign is being met from the funds received from the Mineral Trust Fund available at the district level.
