About Amritdhara

• Amritdhara waterfall is a famous tourist destination situated near village Lai of Manendragarh tehsil of newly formed district Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur.
• Amritdhara Falls is located on the Hasdeo River. It is about 90 feet high and 15 feet wide. Where the ancient temple of Lord Shiva is situated.
• This area is under the fifth schedule, where Pando, Gond, Baiga, Cherwa etc. tribes reside.

Amritdhara Festival

• Every year on the occasion of Mahashivratri, the Amritdhara Festival is organized by the district administration, in which about 10,000 people participate.
• This year it is proposed on February 18-19.
• A grand and glorious program is organized on this occasion, in which traditional sports and other activities are organized along with various entertaining and cultural programs.
• Respectable people’s representatives, local and national artists, etc. participate in this festival along with the local residents of the district.

Objective

• Protection and promotion of tribal art and culture.
• To bring local folk art to the state and national platform.
• Promotion of traditional sports like Kabaddi, Fugdi, Gedi etc.
• This event will provide self-employment opportunities to local residents and increase their income.
• Promotion of ECO-Tourism.

• The estimated budget of the festival is Rs 93 lakh.
