Amritdhara Waterfall
Amritdhara M.C.B. It is situated on the Hasdeo River, 26 km from the district headquarter Manendragarh. Here the water of Hasdeo river falls from a height of 90 feet. Falling from such a height, water looks like milk. Due to falling from a height, small particles of water scatter around the air and bring coolness to the heart. This scene becomes even more spectacular in the rainy season. There is a Shiva temple here. A Mahashivratri fair is held here, in the new year, apart from the local people, a large number of tourists from the surrounding district come here for picnic.
Ramdaha Waterfall
In Janakpur development block of MCB district, this is the second big waterfall of the district, which attracts tourists and tourists during the new year and picnic season. It reaches Ramdaha via Kathoutia-Chutki Bhanwarkhoh, about 80 km from the district headquarter. Surrounded by dark colored rocks, this fall in which the water of Banas river falls from a height of about 70 feet, which makes the view panoramic.
National Marine Gondwana Fossils Park
Distance about 2 km from the district headquarter.Fossils can be seen even today on the banks of Hasdeo river. According to scientists, 28 million years ago there was a glacier at the place of the present Hasdeo river, which later entered the sea in the form of a thin strip called ‘Tathis’ through which marine animals and animals entered the present Hasdeo river of Manendragarh. They were gradually extinct but their fossils can still be seen at the said site. Marine Gondwana Fossils Park was first discovered in 1954 by S.K. Ghosh and he studied marine fossils and made the information of old fossils available to other scientists. In the year 2015, the scientists of Birbal Sahni Institute of Paleo Sciences Lucknow also confirmed this.
Siddh Baba Mountain
Distance from district headquarter is about 4 km.Siddha Baba Mountain, which is called the crown of MCB district, is located about 1 km inside the National Highway 43, the height from the road is about 80 meters. The grand Shiva temple on the lines of Kedarnath is being constructed with public cooperation by local citizens and members of Siddha Baba Samiti. The huge Shiva temple built on the lines of Kedarnath has increased the grandeur of this hill even more.
Chang Devi
Distance from district headquarter approx 120 km. The temple of Chang Devi is reached via Kathoutia-Kelhari-Janakpur. It is not only the Kuldevi of Changbhakhar (Janakpur) princely state, but also of Korea princely state. In fact, there is no idol of the goddess here, it is a stone about 6 cm thick, which was driven away from the road to a deserted place in the forest. This is Chang Devi, in which people have immense faith.
Rock Painting (Shail Chitra)
Distance from district headquarter is about 110 km. Rock paintings have been made by cutting stones in Janakpur tehsil of MCB district. A large number of rock paintings have been found here in Bhanwankhoh (Kohbaur) and Tilauli village of Chutki in Janakpur. Kohbaur has rock paintings of bull, plough, deer, frog, paw, swastika, human figures, hen, camel besides the picture of Kohbar. Tilauli has black colored human figure, red colored deer, lotus flower and script marking.
Sitamarhi (Janakpur)
Distance from district headquarter is about 110 km.Sitamarhi Harchauka’s since ancient times during Shri Ram’s exile in Ch. First of all in M.C.B. It is located 25 km away from Janakpur under Bharatpur development block of the district. Sitamarhi Harchauka is considered to be the first stop of Lord Rama and there are 17 chambers in the cave of Sitamarhi Harchauka on the banks of river Mawai, in which Shivling is established in 12 chambers. This place is known as Harchauka ‘Sita’s Kitchen’ and Sitamarhi (Mother Sita’s Madhi) where Sita lived with Lord Rama and Lakshmana. Since this place is considered to be the first stop of Lord Ram, therefore the Government of Chhattisgarh is constructing ‘Shri Ram Vanagaman Path’ by connecting all the places of Lord Ram’s stay in Chhattisgarh and has announced to develop it as a tourist destination. . Famous historian Karmingham has also considered this place as Chitrakoot.
Ancient temple of Ghaghra
Distance from district headquarter is about 140 km. Ghaghra village is reached from district headquarter Manendragarh via Kathoutia Tiraha, Janakpur. This stone-built temple in Ghaghra village is a living example of ancient archaeological architecture, which is believed to be of the tenth century. There is no idol of deities in this temple. But looking at it, it seems that it is a Buddhist-era temple and it is believed that there must have been a statue of Gautam Buddha. Whereas some people believe that there must have been an idol of Lord Shiva here.
Jatashankar Cave
Distance from district headquarter is about 50 km.MCB There is a small cave inside the Jatashankar hill located further down the hill in the Ghanghor forest, about 12 km away from Bairagi of Biharpur village under Manendragarh development block of the district. About 50 feet inside this cave can be reached on knees and elbows. Shivling is situated here. Devotees call this Shiva temple by the name of Jatashankar. The reason for this is that in the ancient Shivling of Shiva, a shape like jatas is visible. It is said that drops of water keep falling naturally on the idol of Shiva.
Mahamaya Temple (Chanwaridand, Khargawan)
Distance from district headquarter is about 50 km. The temple of Maa Mahamaya is located about 2 km away from the Chirmiri-Katghora main road from Manendragarh. Hundreds of years ago, the erstwhile landlord family of this area had to go to Ratanpur (Bilaspur) to visit Maa Mahamaya. It is said that the father of Khadgawan landlord Raghav Pratap Singh of this time made and replaced the idol of the goddess here. Here Baiga worships daily and Brahmins worship only for nine days of Navratri. The local landlord families worship on the Ashtami of Navratras. With the help of local citizens and public representatives, this temple is continuously expanding and huge crowd is seen during Navratri.
